  1. This all started because of my little girl and me being over protective. I dont want my little one eating anything shes not supposed to while playing outside, which is basically alot lol. But all in all I got interested in Mycology got all the books from the library I could and still reading them. I am here to get a better sense in identifying mushrooms, further my experience, and hopefully understand them to the point I can use that to support my family.

    Hello!!

Hello there! My name is Oliver, I just moved from Texas to Georgia and im fascinated by all the fungi here! Now that im in a place where it grows more frequently (and not in a desert...) I'm super excited to try out mushroom hunting and find out whats growing in my own backyard!!
  3. I'm fairly sure ive found Chanterelles in my own backyard! Ive never found Chanterelles before, and I'm pretty new to mushrooms and any sort of foraging so I want to be absolutely 100% completely sure theyre not false Chanterelles. As many opinions as I can possibly get!!They're growing along the edge of a large English Ivy patch, all from the soil and not wood. I'm in Georgia. Let me know if any additional info is needed! Furthermore, if they are Chanterelles, should I harvest them now or check in after the next big rain storm (im actually expecting one tonight) to see if they're bigger? Most of my mushroom experience is limited to admiring so sorry if thats a really obvious question
  4. I'm an American expat living in southern Japan (Kyushu) for 15+ years. I have loved mushrooms since I was a kid, but have limited knowledge. I love all nature and have been keeping an eye on the fungi of Japan since landing here. Lots of great stuff here, not unlike what I saw back in the states.
