These mushrooms are growing in my front yard, upstate NY. They kind of look like death caps, they have yellowish tops, skirts about half way down. In some of the pics the gills are *white* at their ends, but seem light brown/gray down inside. See pics. I know death caps have white gills, so I’m worried. I dug down and they do not appear to have large bases (or any base, volva?), which might mean they aren’t death caps. My worry: I decided to pull them out lest some child walk up on my lawn and eat them. I used fabric work gloves to do this. There were hundreds of them. After a while I realized the juice from the mushrooms and grass had soaked into the fabric gloves and thus in contact w my fingers. Can the toxins (amatoxins?) soak into my fingers? I washed my hands 4 times. I know the death cap poison doesn’t show symptoms until it’s almost too late/ you have liver failure. So now I’m worried. thanks

Hi folks, Is this a death cap? It was growing (two side by side) on soil with some bark mulch among a mix of Doug fir and Maple. I have not taken a spore print. Thanks. -J

Hi all, I'm new to this forum, and still green at this hunting business. But I think I may have found Amanita phalloides. Wanted to gather some opinions. Apparently they're relatively common in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thanks
