  1. Heck yea I was figuring that 😎💪. Gonna cook this one up for sure. Hoping I'll keep seeing more puffballs popping up here and there. On that - maybe oyster- I'll wait for some confirmation too 😄
  2. Man! If it is.. I'm looking forward to it. But as for smell, it just smells.. like a typical generic mushroom. Not bad by any means. I don't know if that helps 😄
  3. I'm so hoping this is some kind of edible oyster mushroom. But with my luck.. it's not 😂. I believe it was on a Willow tree. No particularly strong scent.
  4. So the last one I picked, was a puffball. Thank you guys, it was delicious . Is this yet another puffball ? Only much larger It looks the same inside I assumed the wrinkles on the outside are because it's so large and might be part of it aging Polypore, no gills . Found in the soil with some debris - grass , leaves
  5. Yet another one. Now I've seen about 4 of them. Puffball ? Please say yes I want to eat this thing 😂😂 I just realized, it has that little... Skin around it.. And the stem seems to have pores looking at the cross section. Maybe not a puffball ?
  6. This is tough because there's no gills.. and there were no other mushrooms around it. I'm fact, about 300 feet away, a similar mushroom was found. The stem and stalk were similar - in that it appeared they just blended together I didn't thoroughly look at it though. So if a parasitic mushroom didn't colonize another mushroom - you think it may be some anomaly - a mutation of some kind? Thank you
  7. Well.. let's try this again.. Hoping this one is edible 🤣. I found this thick white mushroom in the dirt amidst dead leaves and branches. Thick white stalk, almost the same size as the cap, if it's even considered a cap. Smells like mushrooms from the store. I tore off some of it to see inside, no color change after. Any ideas what it is?
  8. Ahh man Another strike out. Everything I've found so far is non edible 😅. Thanks for the update 🤜🤛
  9. Hey guys. I've been learning a bit after being in this forum. I thank you too the mods and community for that. Today I encountered something weird.. It's a firm mushroom. I don't know where it came from.. there were two above ground after I did some grading. They had no stems to what I saw.. And in fact a little root ball that fell off when I picked them up. Are these .. truffles ??? They have pores, not gills. When I cracked them open they are a blackish / blue.. but it doesn't change color.. I mean that color is immediately present when they are opened up.. And they're firm not soft.. They are in Arkansas by the way. They don't stink
  10. Man.. That's nuts! I cut it open, and immediately it started turning blueish where I cut it open
  11. I'm hoping these are edible because there's alot . They're growing on dead Willow trees around my pond. I've been looking online and can't find an identical match
  12. Hello and thank you. It looks like more have popped up. And as they matured, they changed color. It started out as very red, and small and with large diameter stem. Now they've turned brownish yellow. The gills under are yellow.. And there's more growing. Mostly in leafy areas
  13. Second topic. Sorry guys.. Just jumping the gun here. I didn't get enough photos of these and most of them didn't last long. I assume without photos of the girls and stalk, identification will be tough.. But I did take screenshots of the video I took. Any idea with the limited photos on what these are? They were growing everywhere. I hoped Godzilla mushrooms.. But I'm a noob so probably not close. This one particulary was HUGE! I'll get more photos of the gills and stem if I can find some more that are still alive.. but yesterday when I went around my land, they all seemed to be like... Dissolved looking. They decomposed really odd in the rain.. like turned into wet sticky powder.
  14. Hello guys. I'm new here, and have been looking forward to getting involved in this. I recently purchased some land in Arkansas and am moving in there. I've seen hundreds of mushrooms , probably 10 different varieties growing on my land alone, and I'm excited to learn about them, if I can eat any.. And also growing more. The one that stood out the most was isolated. I only saw one.. Any ideas?
