Agaricus Newbie (1/5)

  1. Only the pore surface, the flesh remains white, staining red only at the bottom of the stalk.
  2. I have found some mushrooms growing near some oak and birch trees. They are quite large, the cap is brown and covered in a set of lumps and wrinkles. The underside of the cap is yellow and stains blue. The stem is short and wide, slightly red towards the bottom. The flesh is white, occasionally red and pink. Does anyone know what it could be? Thanks! (found in Bristol, UK)
  3. There is a Norwegian Spruce a few metres away, with which it could have formed a mycorrhizal relationship, and a yew tree a bit further away. There is also a few deciduous shrubs growing in the area as well. The mushroom could also be amanita fulva or a. Vaginata, which are found in the UK.
  4. Thank you for the reply. The location is Bristol in the UK. I have looked at the mushroom and think it could be a very young Chlorophyllum Brunneum specimen. Here is a cross section of the mushroom (I have noticed that the mushroom is pale brown on the inside)
  5. I found this mushroom in my garden near my compost bin. Seemed to be growing in the soil and not on wood or any other substrate. Has gills, which are difficult to see as it is still quite young and the cap hasn't fully opened yet. The cap is a pale brown colour, quite slimy when wet and the flesh is white and doesn’t stain. Also has an unusually large base. Does anyone know what it could be? Thanks
