Pretty certain this is a Chanterelle. I hear these are one of the best edibles, which I'd rarely consider picking any wild mushroom for eating but thought I'd verify as I very well may pick these to try... without the snails of course who apparently think it's delicious. Found this driving down one of the dead end roads while out for a quick hunt for after rain mushrooms. Appears to be a Patriotic Bolete? Stained very dark blue after being disturbed.

Rainy day, mostly drizzle and still no sun, very humid out and not overly hot. The little guy in the photos was there, marked within 1 inch by a small branch. I returned to see its progress about an hour after my last inspection. After close inspection, have found no noticeable trace of the mushroom. I presume it could have been eaten, although after a recent cutworm problem insects in my lawn are a rarity. Knowing some species do have brief life cycles, wanted your thoughts on the likely species. I assume it to be a Parasol, Gymnopus or Marasmiaceae.

Very small vibrant colored mushroom, first I've seen these in my yard although very easy to miss. Only a single specimen making me feel a little bad picking it for a photo op. I believe these are orange moss caps but always appreciate a 2nd eye.

Ah, good point and ty! These are about twice the size of the others I had posted 1st post and they literally grow im abundance were a lot of straw (pine and hay) is laid which is likely not native to the local trees growing which are mostly oaks and a few white pines.

Edit: I returned and pulled a couple of these. Pretty certain they are Strobilurus genus of some sort. Still curious of opinion, but certainly not psilocybe and don't believe to be a little brown. Thus, modified my title and adding pics of the two picked specimen. Being no expert, I've always found fungi interesting. Never pick, just photograph and catalog. Thus, I'm an amateur and use several tools to determine possible species. I have found many psilocybe based, never took home. These had me curious, as they are vastly abundant after rains growing on pine straw and dead leaves. May not be either of the genus I listed, but close as I have come to identifying them. Any ideas? Either way, their location and abundance are safe as they'll be left alone. Lol

Agreed! I personally believe to be deceivers (Laccaria laccata). Stayed almost the same color after drying short of some black on lower stem and cap edges. Very tough cap and stem. Spore print yielded nothing visible unfortunately. I've added another shot for scale. I estimate the caps to be between 1 to 1.2 cm in size at best.

Found a few of these in the backyard, didn't pay them much mind until I found a young one popping up that matches psilocybe semilanceata. Identification has been different depending on app and it can't find an exact match although I believe it to be a deceiver. Any thoughts as to the genus?
