  1. Just need confirmation before i make two of these into a tea. Thank you! Found in Pine (I believe) Forest
  2. I've just recently learned about the benefits on using mycorrhizae for gardening, and was wondering why most people typically grow saprophytic fungi with their plants (wine caps) as opposed to mycorrhizal. Wouldn't it be more intuitive to grow some endo-mycorrhizal mushrooms which also fruit themselves? (Example of the saprophytic mushroom, the wine cap, typically used for gardening.)
  3. I've found one or two apps that provide a quiz feature to help sight identify types of mushrooms, however many of these are not tailored to region, so although they are useful for others, they are not for me. Anyways, does anybody know a good quiz tool like this to help supplement the mycology books? Preferably south east region?
  4. Thank you, they were not a vivid pink color as you explained, so I think this might simply be an older horse mushroom, I may visit the original area I found these in for better specimens for cooking soon. Very cool.
  5. Not the best pictures I've ever taken, but that is besides the point. I'm quite sure I've identified this species as a horse mushroom. It began with its gills at a pale pink and has become a chocolate brown color, is it still edible at this point?
  6. Very interesting, the mushrooms I found resembled most of all the last image of that database, however a decent amount more yellow in the center. There should be some more sprouting up this spring and i will be able to take a closer look
  7. Thanks for the response! Here it is: It is about 2.5 - 3 inches in diameter, and I will post the spore print results tomorrow, sadly the mushroom got ripped in half while removing the stipe, however I still will be able to see the spore print color.
  8. Found these in my lawn in central florida, growing in soil any ideas? Stem is similar color to center of top
