  5. Nice, I’ve seen many today in a hemlock forest. Anyone know what its deadly look alike is called? From little research I’ve done tonight it looks like a brown Cort. is the deadly but supposedly it has some toxic look alikes that are purple, still trying to find out exactly what species they are.

  9. Found growing in a hardwood forest on the base of dead trees in Tennessee today. Also found these a couple hundred feet away.
  10. Very tasty indeed! It’s very hard to distinguish between the two. I assumed all Hericium were called lions mane thanks for the correction! I found this Coral a few weeks back and was very surprised by the looks and taste that it wasn’t classified as a Hericium.

  21. Caps are sticky. Prints are white. This is the earliest I’ve seen enokis in Tennessee.
