Thank you so much! More grew from the log over the past couple of days after the rain. The mycelium seems to be just under the bark of the trunk and when I pulled the mushrooms the bark came off with some of them. Is it prefered to cut the mushrooms off? Thanks again!

Hi, all, Happy Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Newbie to mushrooming and need some help. I found some mushrooms on a downed tree trunk in my backyard. I suspect these may be oyster mushrooms, can someone confirm? Photos attached. I am in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA. The tree MAY be dogwood or ash - its leaves had fallen and so that's as close as we can narrow it down to. I am unable to get a spore print, probably because I don't know what I am doing. :) Thank you in advance, and please let me know if more info is needed.
