  3. Growing on dead hardwood. How further can I qualify this, and differentiate from look-alikes ?
  4. I agree! Very versatile in the kitchen. The season for these in Ontario seems to be rather lengthy, so far. A huge plus!

  10. Found these beside the road under hemlock and pine. They seem to be really slow growing as Ive been watching them the last few weeks. Are they infected with some kind of parasite?
  11. Photos: 1,2 - king bolete? Webbing on stem 3 - birch bolete? Found at base of birch tree 4 - red-cracked bolete? If I am correct on any, especially 3 and 4, are they any good?

  13. Found growing on earth. Bruising dull orange.
  14. Found in a douglas-fir bog growing on peat moss. False gills are present. These are tiny ! Must be a few days old. What are their growth rates like? Feedback welcome Cheers, Chris
  15. Found a small patch of these growing next to a stream in central Ontario. Very small and yellow in colour, with false gills. Are they a species of Chanterelle?
