  1. This was found in suburbs near a dead red bud tree and as you can see in pine bark mulch. It is a bit dry and hard and it was about 3 inches from the mycelium shown. I have never seen a fresh fungi that is this hard. No gills. No polyspore. Aroma is earthy but it has some decayed wood on it. May be xylaria polymorpha or dead mans fingers?
  2. It seems the jellies popped out after a big rain. I think I know what 2 of them are but the orange one I am not sure. All found in the same vicinity. It is hard to identify trees because this used to be a yard with some old trees mostly maple and sycamore, but has been overgrown with box elder. This is probably maple or oak.
  3. Found this in KY on a dead log. It is definitely a jelly, I think Snow fungus. Found three varieties of jelly today as we just had a good rain. Sorry don't know the wood but we have maple, oak and a lot of box elder but this tree fell before I owned the property and there is a lot of scrub box elder now.
  4. I have searched for this one but do not see anything like it. Sorry can't say what kind of tree growing on as it is long dead. Could be oak or box elder. I found some wood ear near by (Auricularia Auricula-Judae) but this does not look like that. Any ideas?
