  1. right, the ring is the main difference i see that makes me not think it is the species i said above - also im not sure that these spores aren't jet black - i was hoping we got lucky and been chosen by the magic fungi in our bio square turtle pin but leaning towards not now
  2. i really think the spore print i did was a hint of purple but thats the first one ive ever done i dont have a known purple color to compare to, i need some black paper too
  3. psilocybe atrobrunnea? idk, i just recieved the psilocybin mushrooms of the world and spouted out the first species that kinda resembled it
  4. here are some more pics, the mushrooms from the original pic above wilted away. but the originals that popped up from when it rained alot the other day were much larger. the last pic is the much larger originals that wilted away. they have hollow stem. im waiting on the new spore print now
  5. i'll def get some more pics of the whole cluster and everything when i get home. no no eating anytime soon lol. i wonder if this mushroom might not be normal to oklahoma since ive been throwing so much different organic matter in the turtle pin. been throwing stuff in there for the 5 years or so. i cant remember how many times the original turtle has hibernated.
  6. hello errrrrbody, i'm new to this stuff but have always had an interest in mushrooms since i was little, dont really know why. anyways, i found a bunch of these dudes growing in my wife and my turtle pin. we have a pin with a couple turtles living in it, with a cave turtle house thing. i throw all the majority of our compost in this turtle pin and a bunch of lawn clippings. anything organic, i throw in this turtle pin to attract worms and grubs so that turtles have plenty of food. the turtle pin grows squash, onions, sunflowers, beans, and whatever seeds get thrown in there. i even thrue some old molding bird seeds in there at the beginning of summer. there is even a raspberry tree growing in there. alot of good organic decaying matter. yesterday i found these guys and it has resparked my interest in mushrooms and i would very much like to identify them. i took a spore print and they are dark black/purplish like the top of one those caps in the pic. has a small ring close to the cap on the stipe. probably from the veil? they dont blue after damage. fairly tough and do not break easily at all. they have a smell similar if not the same as the normal white or brown mushrooms you can buy at walmart. it is the beginning of august in oklahoma and its been a hot summer but this is after a good rain a day or two ago. this spot stays shaded all day due to the bricks and squash plant leaves. please help experts out there. i can take more photos if youd like. thanks
