California transplant to Nicaragua. Loooots of amazing species of fauna, flora, and fungi to discover around these parts. Glad to join the group and look forward to learning many wonderful things.
I wanted to share this image of one that's been a bit difficult for me to pin-point.
It may be a Lactarius, but no milk, no bruising, no staining... Smells pleasantly earthy, almost freshly herby, very similar to a regular white mushroom from the store (didn't taste it, though I'm tempted to). Sprung up after a tropical storm, on the ground, around the roots of various species of trees.
