  1. My son and I found this specimen while foraging for Chanterelles this morning: It was alone in a mix of hardwood and pine. The pictures below don't do the yellow of the stem justice - its bright yellow. No staining where bruised or cut. No particular odor. It's tubes have a soft off-white covering over them that removes easily with a fingernail. None of my reference books have an exact match. The closest match I've found is a posting of Aureoboletus Auripes made by Dave on this site. Anyone have insight? Thanks
  2. Hi, thanks for allowing me to join your forum. My son and I are semi-novice mushroom hunters and foraging enthusiast. We have a tremendous variety growing on our property and we are looking forward to learning to identify them.
