Thank you Dave! Considering your knowledge and experience I now concur with your opinion. The learning process is almost as enjoyable as the hunt. (almost) As far as the morels go, it was a rumor from south Missouri that I am yet to verify. We didn't find any, but when we do we will announce and send pictures.

Rumor of morel find just north of us, yesterday, so we hit the woods this morning. My wife came across a nice bunch of these fragrant puffballs. I believe them to be Lycoperdon pyriforme, but they were on a rocky trail and not on wood. Could I get some help or other opinions? Thanks!
