  1. Looks like it. It is hard to see on a picture but stem should have reticulation, at least at the top
  2. Looks like something from a king family
  3. Flesh of king bolete will stay white when cut. In others it develops bluish, greenish, brownish colors Flesh of king bolete will stay white when cut. In others it develops bluish, greenish, brownish colors. Also some boletes have yellow flesh, what will be inconsistent with king, which should have white flesh and yellow tubes when mature
  4. Looks like edulis to me assuming that there is no staining when cut, and no bitter taste although I am pretty sure it is not tylopilus
  5. Looks like it. I see it in NJ now as well
  6. Could be, although I think there are several similar looking white lactarius sp with white peppery tasting latex which are difficult to differentiate from each other
  7. Confirmed. Could be somewhat past prime
  8. Taste and spit is not a big mistake. I pick mushrooms for years and sometime it is still the best way to separate edible bolete from not so much
  9. Looks like ringless honeys. They appeared in NJ few days ago as well.
  10. May be there is something with color on a pictures. Mushrooms in a basket have white stem and bright purple gills. Others appeare with dark stem and purplish brownish gills
  11. To me mushrooms on a first pic looks different from the rest. Mushrooms in a bucket I would consider blewit or Cort. Others do look like laccaria. I would definitely master spore print for this type of mushrooms. They look to be in a prime shape for spore print
  12. If you do not put mushrooms through hot cycle worms will finish them first. Even if you select worm free mushrooms few eggs will usually pass through inspection. I am not sure about exact temperature to kill all bugs but do not cook mushrooms at the same time. Something in 120 to 180 F Range I suspect.
  13. One of several similar looking red cap lecciniums
  14. Is it fragrant? If real matsutake it should be. In NJ I find only other tricholoma sp which are firm but not fragrant and slightly bitter
  15. Those are infected by hypomyces
  16. Looks like it and again point toward Agaricus sp
  17. It may become soft and light when overmatured, past prime but it is difficult to boost your confidence without pictures It may become soft and light when overmatured, past prime but it is difficult to boost your confidence without pictures
  18. Looks like it. Stem should be hollow.
  19. Yes, a bolete, but based on a picture it will be difficult to determine exact species.
  20. Based on dark reticulated stem it is not leccinium which has different stem structure, but tylopilus. There are a number of not bitter tylopilus species.
