  1. We stayed in Punta Gorda, I just beat some recent rainstorms when I left. Beautiful area!
  2. Thanks guys! That looks like a great match. Unfortunately I didn't get a spore print but that is looking pretty solid. We are on the Gulf side, too, so that makes sense. I'll remember to be better prepared next time I leave town! -R
  3. So.. On vacation in FL and found these guys outside our rental. Way to early for me to start thinking about finding any fungi so of course I didn't bring any of my guides. Anybody in the south have any idea what these guys are? They are growing from largely submerged stump. Stump-type is unknown ane though there is a grapefruit tree nearby, there appears to be a little hobby landscaping going on so the stump could be anything. They feel leathery/felt wool -like, and they smell a lot like oyster mushrooms I've grown in my yard. It's driving me crazy! Gills are attached, and the top is "furry" feeling. Any help is appreciated! -R
  4. Hi everybody! This is the first online mushroom forum/community that I've had the pleasure to join. I've loved mushroom hunting for a long time and was blessed to be able to take a mycology course at the University of Wi Superior to build some confidence with identification. Basically I just like getting into the outdoors and cooking/eating things that I find there. Looking forward to learning a bunch and sharing my bit of knowledge if I can. Thanks!
