  1. One of my patches, near Bancroft, produced 10 morels last week, small blacks but they were there. Sunny, dry spot. My other spots had nothing.
  2. Big congrats! Hard work pays off 😎🍄
  3. These look like the blacks I find in sandy soils as well.
  4. Hmmmm, hard to tell but if I were to guess… Pic 1,3,4 and 5 look like chaga. Possible to take a a chunk off and post pics? Both of the mass you took it of and the chunk itself. I dont see any chaga ‘rust’, which is a stain left on the bark below the fruiting body. The others look like something else.
  5. My spots in Ontario still have snow 😝. Delicious photo, thanks for the share.
  6. This is how people die - eating unidentified mushrooms. Never do that again - tell your friend, spread the news.
  7. Its the dead of winter, going through photos on my phone and wanted to share this with you all. A fun picture, a gentle reminder : although conditions may call for a flush, the mushrooms have a life of their own. It was a fun trip none the less. Hope you are doing well 🙂🍄
  8. Yeah, it spored on you. Where was it growing from?
  9. Cut the brown looking interior off and enjoy! Though the skin may be a little tough…
  10. Does it have a pleasant smell? Looks like an oyster to me, in its prime to boot! Wait for another confirmstion though.
  11. Look like oldish honeys. Can we see the stalk and underside of the cap please?
  12. Very first photo there is a good deposit on white spores on the caps of some mushrooms. Proceed with svs’s instruction on consumption.
  13. Oddish, but forest honeys 🍄
  14. Chants and trumpets, dried in situ 😝. Chants do get worms, a lot of the ones I find have worms and get tossed.
  15. Strange for me here. Last year ( Im in central-ish Ontario ) we had no rain, then came the rains followed by big flushes. This year it was sort of dry, rains came but the flushes never did. I was convinced it would be a banger year again… such is the life of a mushroom.
  16. Its been so long since Ive harvested shaggy’s… thanks for the share and enjoy 🍄
  17. Welcome from Toronto 🍄. My stomping grounds are in Barrie and north of Bancroft.
  18. My friends have used a few, forget the names and they work ok-ish for easily identifiable shrooms. Wouldn’t rely on it though, dangerous game to play. Like Kevin said, ballpark direction.
